oh no… she’s two!

Well it finally happened and I knew it was coming but who is really prepared for the terrible two’s. I wonder if she’ll remember the days when she needed my help and security for everything and how I gladly gave it. Will she forget how I would hold her close until she fell sound asleep? “She still needs me,” I keep telling myself, after all she calls my name every ten minutes of the day. “Mommy, Mommy,” but she never really wants anything. Maybe she just feels safe enough knowing I’m around the corner. At least that is until we get outside.
My strong-willed cutie started out at a mere 5.5 pounds, nobody would guess if you were to look at her now. She’s a fearless cookie. Which makes me nervous as heck, sure it’s a great trait to have when you’re older but at two, it keeping mom and dad on their toes constantly.
All and all she’s a great kid, even with the throw myself on the flow tantrums, the yanking away just so you can chase her down the halls of the mall, grocery store or anyplace where there are people watching and judging you about your parenting skills.
I keep telling myself those who have kids understand and those who don’t, never will. The only thing left to do is ride the wave of living with a two year old knowing that plans are impossible to make, dinner doesn’t need to planned ahead of time, and the terrible two’s will pass and we will all survive.
