where is my pre-pregnancy body?

January 31st, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

Five weeks post-partum and I’m still looking for it…

Yes I know the rule, if it took 10 months to put on the weight then expect it will take the same amount of time to lose. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait that long. It doesn’t help watching all the celebrities pop out babies and get back to their pre-baby weight practically overnight. I mean my son is 2 weeks older than Nicole Richie’s and I am no where near my pre-pregnancy weight. So I decided it was time for a reality check.

say goodbye to stained clothes and get dabibs

January 23rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

dabib1.jpgDrool control was impossible with my daughter she was always wearing a bib. I would go through at least five a day which made every day laundry day. I tried several different types of bibs but nothing could with stand her drips, drops and dribbles. I also found it increasingly difficult to find bibs with a plastic barrier to prevent leaks from soaking though to her shirts. I shopped at Target and other chains to find bibs with plastic backs but it was hard to find something cute.

I want to tell you about a great new bib that should be on every mom’s wish list. DaBib bibs are like no other. You can say goodbye to stained clothes and endless laundering these bibs keep your baby covered. DaBib’s unique Scrunch collar keeps your babies neck clean and dry and the waterproof back protects her cute clothes.

bouncing back after baby

January 16th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

168 lbs that is what the scale read. At each doctor’s visit I dreaded the moment I had to step on the scale. I waited in agony to see how much more I gained every week. 168 lbs was my final weigh in the day before I had my son. In the past 9 months I gained 45 lbs well over the suggested weight gain of 25 to 30 lbs.

I am now almost 3 weeks post-partum and I’m ready to start my Get Back in Shape plan. I’ve tossed out all the ice cream and sweets I craved throughout my pregnancy. I’ve dusted off the treadmill and even walked on it this morning for 20 minutes.

So until I get the okay from my doctor that it is safe to exercise I will take a light walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes a day.

While I am working to get back in shape, I will post things, products, and etc. on my blog that helped me lose the weight.

Coming Soon: Product Review of the Fit + Giggles workout.

What did you do to get your pre-baby figure back, let us know by posting a comment.

outsourcing child care

January 15th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

We all know the outsourcing has become a major issue in the United States. We have all been affected by it in some way. I recently had to call computer support for my new laptop and ended up talking to someone from India. It was a frustrating long not because of the language barrier but because the conversations are so scripted. Not only that my job is at stake as well. I work in the IT industry as a web development manager and the idea of outsourcing my work overseas has come up far too often.

This clip “Outsourcing Child Care,” makes fun of the outsourcing epidemic, we all know it’s a bit extreme but it makes me wonder, how many more jobs are going to be lost due to outsourcing.

new year, new baby, new plan

January 14th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

This is my first post for 2008 and I can’t believe we are already 14 days into the New Year! We have been super busy with our new baby that time just zipped on by. But I did have a couple of minutes today and realized that I need a new plan for the New Year. So I broke out my momAgenda and started filling in the blank pages.

I have big plans for this year. My online boutique is undergoing a major overhaul in the next couple of weeks. So please stop by and check it out, www.lalababyboutique.com.

I just recently launched my new blog www.mompreneurlife.com, which I will cover all issues about parenting and entrepreneurship, including my personal diary of success and failures. I hope to have interviews from other mompreneurs, tips and helpful entrepreneurial resources.

In addition to the mompreneurlife.com blog, I will also be launching www.thinkorganicbaby.com a shopping blog for all things organic and baby.

I only have a few more minutes before I need to pick up my daughter so I better jet. Time is flying by these days!
