potty training update: tossing out the pull ups
April 22nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie
It’s been 5 days since her last potty accident and I couldn’t be more proud of my daughter. She is on her way to becoming pull up free! It was a long road to success. We tried everything, rewards, potty charts, potty books, potty DVD’s but nothing seemed to work for her.
Until one day it just clicked. She still gets Skittles as a reward (when she remembers) for using the potty to encourage her to keep up the good work. The best part is that she’s moved up to the next room at the day care with all her girlfriends. She was picking up the worst boy habits from the other room. She’s given up the dinosaurs and pirate faces and traded them in for dancing and princess dresses.

out in la: baby celebration
April 13th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie
With family in tow, we spent a day at Baby Celebration at the Los Angeles Convention Center, this weekend. A mommy or mom-to-be’s paradise, isles of fun and hip products for mom, baby and trendy tots.
The event didn’t stop at hip and trendy there was also plenty of healthy and green products available at the show. My 2 year old daughter had the opportunity to sample Tasty Baby, frozen organic food for babies and toddlers. “Mommy I love it,” she says. With her stamp of approval I will defiantly be buying some at Whole Foods next week.
Hot Mom’s Club was at the event promoting their new website, if you haven’t checked it out. It’s an absolute must! Register and have some fun talking with other Hot Mamas. I walked away with a cute baby tank, “My mom is hotter than your mom!”
I’m crossing my fingers to be the winner of the YogiPoof ultimate Bean Bag!
If you haven’t joined Hot Moms Club, you should check out their site, www.hotmomsclub.com.
week 2: potty training
April 6th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie
After a week of trial and error I think we have finally discovered our daughter’s potty pattern. This Sunday we decided to put her on the potty every 1 ½ hours and it worked! She no longer struggles with us about going on the potty she sits happily awaiting her Skittle reward. So far the only downside I’ve noticed is around bed time. It is extremely hard for to go to sleep after eating a couple skittles. Last night she tossed and turned until about 10pm!
I’m so proud of her and happy they will be transferring her into the “big kid” room where all her girlfriends are.
what’s on your vision board?
April 2nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie
While I was on maternity leave this winter I was able to watch a very inspiring Oprah show. I’m sure everyone has now heard of the book, “The Secret.” Being as busy as I am I watched the DVD. Have you also heard of a vision board?
I bought one for myself and for dear hubby last month and we are just starting to put them to use. Which got me to thinking what are other people putting on their vision boards?
I’ll tell you what’s on mine, in no particular order of importance.
5 dvd’s to help get back in shape after baby
April 2nd, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by S. Elie
My son will be 16 weeks old tomorrow, time sure does fly by. Too bad the pounds don’t drop just as fast! Sure the pounds just fell off the first month but now I’m teetering on 15lbs over what I would like to be. So before I give up and just call Final Inches, I decided that I would take it up a notch and do a little bit more than the thirty on the treadmill everyday.
