but i’m a morning person

by Stephanie Elie on June 10, 2009

Okay so time management is a serious problem in my house. Trying to find a moment to myself is a definite challenge. If I wake up early, someone with little fit will be sure to wake up within thirty minutes, no matter how quite I am. I’ve been known to hold my pee for hours for fear of waking up one of the little ones.

I was born and raised as a morning person; my parents would wake us up for breakfast before 7am. So getting early is completely natural. So I thought perfect I’ll just get up a couple of hours earlier and get some work done.  Well apparently Bizzie Boy disagrees with my plan because he likes to moan and groan in his sleep keeping me up most of the night so I’ll be too tired to get up. Best of all when it’s finally TIME to really get out of the bed; this is what my son does…

That’s right this was taken on Tuesday morning after the alarms got everyone out of bed and after Bizzie Boy kept my hubs and I up all night. Cute right?  UGG this little guy has me severely sleep deprived.

So I thought if I can’t get up in the morning, how do I convert into a NIGHT OWL?

Here are some problems with making the transition.
1.    I hate coffee
2.    I’m tired by 9pm
3.    It’s not really me time because my Hubs will be up too

Benefits of making the transition
1.    When there is no work to be done, I can hang with the hubs
2.    I can cross some stuff of my to-do list
3.    I can sleep in, in the morning

If you have any suggestions on how stay awake when you are a morning person, I would love to hear them.

Yeah, I’d like to hear them, too. My husband is a night owl, often coming to bed just about the time I’m getting up. The trouble is, when I’m ready to go to bed, he’s just getting going and wants to chat, run out to the store, bake bread, and any number of other things! Me? I’m asleep by 10 pm. Either in bed, or propped up in the kitchen while hubs bakes bread.

I am so with you on this. As soon as I get out of bed my little man is up right behind me. So taking some time to get some work done in the morning is pretty much out of the question. At night when I put him to bed, I find myself putting me to bed as well. It’s crazy. I have so much I want to get done this month and I’m wondering how will I find the time. Will I have to resort back to the techniques of college (all nighters). I have no idea. What is a mom to do?

Humph, “before 8AM” is early? I remember when my Mom would get my sister and I up before the SUN – now that’s early. On the weekends, we would sleep-in and catch the 6AM morning cartoons…and yes, I’m a morning person too (but no longer before 7 AM).
