the princess and the bear

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone had a safe and great Halloween this year. This year Bizzie Princess totally understood the concept of Halloween this year and of course the candy giving. She had an entire Elmo head full of candy by the time the night was through, which mom and dad will be going through tonight to pick out the stuff she shouldn’t have. I love that she got some non-traditional trick or treat items, like pretzels and even some little toys.
Costume buying was a bit of a challenge this year, being that she is heavy into the Princess stuff. She had a Cinderella dress and we bought her a Belle costume and Ariel costume from the Disney Store both were 50% off so that really great. Then of course the next day she decided she wanted to be a Pumpkin, but not just any Pumpkin a Princess Pumpkin.
Luckily she forgot about being a Pumpkin Princess and decided to wear her Belle costume to school for the party. It’s always good to have more then one costume because 3 year olds can by messy.
I missed the kids school party this year, but we did take them out to a Halloween Festival at a near by church. We attended last year and it was an easy and safe way to get some Halloween candy and fun too. They had bouncers, games, popcorn, hot dogs and even a professional photographer on deck. We even ran into an old friend of ours from college, who has four kids, I don’t know how they do it in LA. I know I couldn’t.
lil’ bizzie boy and his new kicks
October 24th, 2008 / 2 Comments » / by S. Elie
There is nothing stopping him now, Bizzie Boy just got his first set of REAL kicks. After work on Friday we took the kids to the mall on a mission, we needed a costume for Bizzie Princess and some new WALKING shoes for Bizzie Boy. We saved big on dinner because they were selling dinners-to-go at the kids’ school, $4 for orange chicken and rice dinners. It was pretty tasty and Bizzie Princess approved, because she ate hers and a little bit of mine as well.
We took Bizzie Princess to the Disney store where she picked up the Ariel Mermaid costume and matching shoes that were both 40% off and a Belle Costume which was 50% off. We didn’t need the Belle shoes because we already had them at home. Our Halloween costume shopping was done in 15 minutes or less. Yes! I was bummed they didn’t have any cute costumes for Bizzie Boy, they had an adorable Minnie costume but the Mickey costume wasn’t as cute. So I decided I would look for something for him someplace else.
bizzie princess modeling debut
October 16th, 2008 / 2 Comments » / by S. Elie
Bizzie Princess made her modeling debut on the Buckleyboo.com website. She’s in the right corner playing with one of the toys. Okay so it wasn’t a REAL modeling gig the picture was taken at the ABC Kids Show.
But it’s a start.

Wondering what the Buckleyboo is?
Stage 1: Matching
Kids first learn to scan and match the ribbons.
Stage 2: Buckling
At eighteen months, they are ready to buckle, but they cannot yet unbuckle, which makes Buckleyboo, for a time at least, a toy to be shared between parent and child. At this stage, the child will likely leave all the other buckles in their environment alone; now they have 5 of their own buckles to play with.
Stage 3: Unbuckling
At three years, kids have both the physical strength and the cognitive ability to buckle and unbuckle, and they will happily do so by the hour. Kids will also begin to integrate their lovable pal into their world of imaginative play.
Check out the Buckleyboo website.

Bizzie Boy is now wondering all of the house on his own two feet! He goes back and fourth across the living room, I swear he’s practicing. Maybe he wants to try out for a marathon?
bizzie princess, my budding artist

As some of you may already know, we pulled our kids out of daycare to slow down the damage this (eh hm) recession is doing to our household. Plus they just raised the tuition again. It’s just temporary until we find another location or if DH finds a swing shift opposite of mine so we can just keep them out all together.
Anyhow my daughter drew this on one of her days with Daddy, and he was just amazed a 3 year old was capable of drawing all the details, eyes, mouth, face, eyebrows. I wasn’t sure myself so I thought I would ask my blogging friends.
5 phrases I wish my daughter didn’t remember

Being a parent is a huge responsibility and a real “learning” experience. Everyone is bound to make mistakes along the way. My husband and have said things to and around my daughter that I never thought would bite us in the butt later.
1. “See I told you,” Bizzie Girl’s favorite new phrase. She loves to tell me “See I told you” when I tell her the TV is broken and she manages to turn it on. Pretty every time she is right, she tells us, “See I told you.” This one came from me. It started when I would ask her if she needs to go to the potty, she would say no. So I would make her sit on the potty and when she went I would say, “See I told you.” Little did I know I would be getting it right back.
2. “Princess Diva,” this one is 100% my husband’s fault. One day Bizzie Girl had a major attitude and while we were on the phone with her Grandmother, my husband said she was “Princess Diva.” And to this day, she will refer to herself as Princess Diva.

are you ready for halloween?

Halloween is just around the corner, I just can’t believe how fast this year is going by. I can’t believe Bizzie Boy will be a year old in just a couple of months. I can still remember being pregnant and feeling him move around. Time is flying by.
Bizzie Princess was Jasmine last year in a cute little pink genie like costume. She didn’t really get “Halloween” last year we took her to a church that had a carnival with games the kids play. It was nice clean and safe fun. Some of her candy got lost on the way home though (not sure what happened to it), I don’t think she didn’t notice.
She found the costume a couple of weeks ago and was ecstatic because she is heavy into Princess, especially the Disney Princess’s. The costume has gotten a little small and Bizzie Princess’s belly was visible so she spends most of the time pulling her shirt up or pants down. She can’t stand to show her tummy. As a mom, I’m not complaining. I hope she feels like that forever.
bizzie girl knows lala baby…

So I was sitting down getting ready to ship out a Tummy T maternity t shirt. I just received a new shipment for LaLa Baby Boutique and the box was sitting on the sofa. So this is the dialog between Bizzie Girl and me.
Bizzie Girl: What’s this mommy?
Me: Oh that’s stuff for my business.
Bizzie Girl: Oh is it for LaLa Baby
My jaw nearly dropped, I never thought my 3 year old daughter new or understood that I had a business. Wow.
Then she turns to my computer, I think she’s looking for the website.
Bizzie Girl: I don’t see LaLa Baby
Wow again, she can tell the difference.
Bizzie Girl: Can I push the red button for LaLa Baby?
Red Button? Okay she is still a 3 year old. But today she totally made my day.
