can you say, out of my comfort zone?

So I decided to take the leap into vlogging and thanks to newbaby.com they made it a whole lot easier. Once I received my Flip video camera I instantly felt obligated to at least give it a try. I mean I talk to myself all the time so how hard could it be to talk in front of a camera.

Right, this coming from a girl who forgot the lines of the script SHE WROTE when on stage to perform it! Okay I was like 9 years old at the time. But it left a scar, a scar of fear.

So thanks to newbaby.com I’m slowly overcoming my fears and recording my crazy life on video. I have started a series called Bizzie Mommy Confessions that I will post regularly on newbaby.com and I will also start video product reviews and some other Mommy tips.

five little mice sittin’ in a tree

November 24th, 2008 / 3 Comments » / by S. Elie

Christmas treeWith Christmas just around the corner, I am stuck trying to decide if we should get a Christmas tree this year. My husband and I have lived together for 9 years and have only had a Christmas for two of them. Pathetic I know. But I have a good excuse; we are almost always out of town for the Holiday.

I still can’t get last year’s tree adventure out of my mind.

Last year we decided it was time to get a tree we were staying home this year because I was expecting our son any day. Plus our daughter was getting older and I just knew she would have fun decorating the tree and watching the lights. So we went to the Tree Farm and let her pick out the tree. She was so excited. I was excited and so was my husband.

So we get the tree home safely and up the stairs and then the drama starts. I bet you are wondering what happened? Okay, nobody fell down the stairs and no one got hurt. Well…

i won the empowering quote contest

November 8th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

I’d like to thank my husband who stood by my side while typing up the quote, and my kids who inspire me… just kidding.

Thanks for the votes Twitter Friends and everyone!

Motivational Mama hosted an Empowering Quotes contest on Friday and the people voted my quote as the most popular. I wonder if that means I won the electoral votes too, hmm?

on the eve of election day

November 4th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

Tomorrow is Election Day and it will probably go down in history as one of the most important and historical elections in history at least in my life time. My husband and I have been following the campaign very closely, watching the debates, reading about propositions and learning more about the key issues in the state and nation.

We recorded the debates so we could watch them without kids screaming in the background. We taught Bizzie Princess to tell parents at her school “Obama for President.” She can’t say it right though, she says “Obama o President!” Bu it’s close enough, right?

I am very nervous about this election and wondering what is going to happen once our new President is announced. This campaign has brought out the ugly in a lot of people.

My goals next week

October 31st, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

Today is Halloween and I’ve been a crazy disorganized disaster the last couple of weeks. I’ve made some shipping mistakes this past week with my store. I have broken every commitment I made to myself. I think I said I was going to start working out again a month or two ago. But I haven’t started yet. I am supposed to be blogging daily and look my last post was on Wednesday and that was a scheduled post so technically my last post was on Tuesday. I have been trying to update my store with some really cool products that I know every new mom can use. I know I could use some of them. And I still have to finish the design on my store blog and convert my store to a cheaper shopping cart. It’s crazy how much stuff I have on my to-do-list.

It’s not all my fault; I’ve been sick for like a month and am just now starting to feel better. I have two kids that love to hang out with me when I’m about to sit down at the computer.

happy anniversary, it’s year what again?

October 7th, 2008 / 5 Comments » / by S. Elie

anniversary tulipsToday is our wedding anniversary and it feels like just another day. I am a little bummed we were unable to find a babysitter for this evening. My hubby and I could use some one on one interaction without Bizzie Boy and Bizzie Princess.

Hubby and I have been married for 7 years now, wow time if flying by. We met in college and started dating when we were 20 years old. We’ve been through a lot together, we have grown up together.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BABE
At least this year we got the date right, LOL!

life begins outside your comfort zone

October 6th, 2008 / 7 Comments » / by S. Elie

“Life begins outside your comfort zone,” my new words to live by!

I’ve been living in a bubble for most of my life, always sitting, well more like hiding under the radar. I can’t even say when it started, but I know it was early in life. I didn’t even see anything wrong with it until I got older. I’m talking two kids and a hubby older.

I’ve spent my past life just getting by. I wasn’t a bad student in high school, but I didn’t really strive to get better, I was comfortable with just getting by. I did go on to college and even there, I didn’t venture outside my comfort zone. I stayed with what I knew.

i kaboodle, do you?

September 27th, 2008 / 2 Comments » / by S. Elie

I created a kaboodle account over a year ago and just recently decided to take a look at again. I have to tell you I just love the site. I originally joined the site to promote my own store (www.lalababyboutique.com), but I’m also finding it useful for friends and family. What a great way to sneak in a wish list, without actually telling them what you want. I can hear the dialog now.

Me: Oh (feel in the blank friend/family member), have you heard of Kaboodle.com.

Them: No what’s that?

Me: It’s a social shopping website, you can shop, meet people that have the same interest as you, create lists of your favorite things.

this too shall pass

September 24th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

I’m listening to India Arie, I love listening to her music when I’m feeling a little blah. Here music is smooth, soothing and inspirational all at the same time. The song that got my attention this morning is This too Shall Pass,  an inspiring song when you feeling blah.

There is so much going on in my life right now, I feel like I am barely hanging on. I sit in my cubicle at work feeling like I am the only one going through so much crap that it feels like my head is going to explode.  Everyone seems so happy, so together. I feel a bit out of place.

But this too shall pass…

So I’m hanging on to those words, what I am feeling, what I am going through will eventually pass and there will better days.

So if you are reading this and feeling a little “blah” then remember India Arie’s song, download it if you have to, This too Shall Pass.

contemplating a trip to urgent care

September 20th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

Still trying to figure out if I should go to the doctor. You can’t really tell in the pics but it’s still hurts. Hubby still thinks its cracked. I just don’t want to sit around in urgent care for 5 hours. I should change my blog name to clumsymommy.com instead. I should start a entirely new blog about stupid accidents/injuries.
