happy anniversary, it’s year what again?

October 7th, 2008 / 5 Comments » / by S. Elie

anniversary tulipsToday is our wedding anniversary and it feels like just another day. I am a little bummed we were unable to find a babysitter for this evening. My hubby and I could use some one on one interaction without Bizzie Boy and Bizzie Princess.

Hubby and I have been married for 7 years now, wow time if flying by. We met in college and started dating when we were 20 years old. We’ve been through a lot together, we have grown up together.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BABE
At least this year we got the date right, LOL!

life begins outside your comfort zone

October 6th, 2008 / 7 Comments » / by S. Elie

“Life begins outside your comfort zone,” my new words to live by!

I’ve been living in a bubble for most of my life, always sitting, well more like hiding under the radar. I can’t even say when it started, but I know it was early in life. I didn’t even see anything wrong with it until I got older. I’m talking two kids and a hubby older.

I’ve spent my past life just getting by. I wasn’t a bad student in high school, but I didn’t really strive to get better, I was comfortable with just getting by. I did go on to college and even there, I didn’t venture outside my comfort zone. I stayed with what I knew.

i kaboodle, do you?

September 27th, 2008 / 2 Comments » / by S. Elie

I created a kaboodle account over a year ago and just recently decided to take a look at again. I have to tell you I just love the site. I originally joined the site to promote my own store (www.lalababyboutique.com), but I’m also finding it useful for friends and family. What a great way to sneak in a wish list, without actually telling them what you want. I can hear the dialog now.

Me: Oh (feel in the blank friend/family member), have you heard of Kaboodle.com.

Them: No what’s that?

Me: It’s a social shopping website, you can shop, meet people that have the same interest as you, create lists of your favorite things.

this too shall pass

September 24th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

I’m listening to India Arie, I love listening to her music when I’m feeling a little blah. Here music is smooth, soothing and inspirational all at the same time. The song that got my attention this morning is This too Shall Pass,  an inspiring song when you feeling blah.

There is so much going on in my life right now, I feel like I am barely hanging on. I sit in my cubicle at work feeling like I am the only one going through so much crap that it feels like my head is going to explode.  Everyone seems so happy, so together. I feel a bit out of place.

But this too shall pass…

So I’m hanging on to those words, what I am feeling, what I am going through will eventually pass and there will better days.

So if you are reading this and feeling a little “blah” then remember India Arie’s song, download it if you have to, This too Shall Pass.

contemplating a trip to urgent care

September 20th, 2008 / No Comments » / by S. Elie

Still trying to figure out if I should go to the doctor. You can’t really tell in the pics but it’s still hurts. Hubby still thinks its cracked. I just don’t want to sit around in urgent care for 5 hours. I should change my blog name to clumsymommy.com instead. I should start a entirely new blog about stupid accidents/injuries.

cracked elbow, donuts, and web design

September 20th, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by S. Elie

This weekend started off just grand, and I have so much to do. Last night I was celebrating the fact that my kids were both a sleep and my husband and I can finally get some quality time (okay we spent it working) but we got some time together.

My husband was finishing the last book with my daughter and I celebrated with a little dance and wound up cracking my elbow. So if you already know me, you would know that I am an absolute klutz. I never seriously injure myself enough to go to the doctor but there are still plenty of injuries.

This one is probably the worst. How did it happen? Well I was doing the happy dance to close to the Friday and BAM, my elbow went SMACK into the freezer door.

I blame it on the donut sugar rush. Yes I did get some last night.

That’s the start of my very hectic weekend, so much to do and so little time. I’m off to finish a client’s website…

blackberry or spouse?

September 16th, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by S. Elie

Which would you choose? Sheraton Hotels conducted a study on the usage of blackberry and other PDA’s and came up with some astonishing results. According to the study out of 65,000 traveling executives 35% would choose their PDA over their spouse!

In fact the study goes on and states that 87% take their PDA into the bedroom, 84% check emails before going to sleep and 80% check their emails as soon as they wake up. Out of the people polled 62% said they love their blackberry or PDA and it makes them more productive.

I can admit I am addicted to my blackberry more than I should be. I do take mine to bed with me and it’s even my alarm in the morning. But my husband is sleeping right next to me doing the same thing. There is something about having access to email right at your fingertips that is super addicting. The freedom of being able to work while running errands with the kids or grocery shopping is empowering.

I do heart my blackberry, but I love my hubby more.

So which would you choose your spouse or your blackberry?

glazed is all i need

September 14th, 2008 / 3 Comments » / by S. Elie

Every now and then I get a craving for something that I just can’t shake in fact it almost becomes an obsession that just won’t quit until I get what I want. Last night on our way home from Vegas I just had to have a GLAZED Donuts. So on our way out I stopped by Dunkin Donuts, waited in surprising long line for 8pm. I mean who really eats Donuts at night right?

So when I placed my order, the drive thru guy said, “Oh we are all out of glazed Donuts.”

Me: “How are you out of Donuts, this is Dunkin Donuts right?”

Drive Thru Guy: “Well my guess is someone ordered them all.”

Me: “Wow.” But I was thinking smart-ass.

Drive Thru Guy: We have another location 2 miles down.

final inches

September 3rd, 2008 / 18 Comments » / by S. Elie

This Saturday, I am doing something I never thought I would ever consider doing. I never judged anyone else for doing it. But now I am actually considering it myself. Things change when you have kids. Your body changes when you have kids. Your body image changes when you have kids. So what am I talking about? If you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about cosmetic surgery.

There is a place that has been beckoning me every morning as I drive into work with a call to action I can’t ignore. “Lose your pregnancy pouch for good.” It’s a radio commercial to Final Inches a body shaping center in Orange County.

the princess and the park

September 2nd, 2008 / 6 Comments » / by S. Elie

This weekend we took Princess Bizzie and Bizzie Boy to Disneyland since my parents where in town. My PB absolutely fell in love with the place. BB is still a bit young to enjoy the magic that is Disneyland so he spent most of the day relaxing in the stroller.

But Princess Bizzie was exactly the right age to have some serious fun. We took her on several of the rides, even Finding Nemo which was much more entertaining than I anticipated it would be. Standing in the 1 hour 50 min line had more of a payoff then I imagined. She rode the Dumbo ride with me and Bizzie Daddy got lucky and road the Teacups with her. I’m not a big fan of the spinning rides. I’m getting a headache just thinking about the spinning.

Anyway, Princess Bizzie loved everything she loved the parade, the fireworks, most of the rides, the food (yes I said food, the pizza next to Space Mountain is actually pretty good) and all the other Disney surprises.
