blogger meet up at disneyland
December 6th, 2008 / 5 Comments » / by S. Elie

This weekend I was able to MEET some bloggers that I have seen around the blogosphere thanks to the people at Disney. We were able to bring our families to the park for a wonderful reception, a VIP viewing of the Holiday fireworks show and Fantasmic. I am so glad I was able to meet some of my fellow bloggers.
By the way thanks Chrisitine for taking Bizzie Mommy along for the bathroom run. She loved hanging out with your daughter.
The blogger event started with a Friday reception at the Grand Californian Hotel which we were late for, in fact I was sure we were going to miss the event all together. I was pleasantly surprised that (1) we weren’t the last family to arrive and (2) the Disney team didn’t seem at all upset that we showed up almost 2 hours late. Traffic was a total bear. I have made a mental not to never attempt a drive to Anaheim from the Valley at 4pm. Never!
out in la: at the land of disney

That’s right folks we went to Disneyland this Saturday to see a sneak peak preview of the Tinker Bell movie. It is an adorable movie that I’m sure your little Princess or Fairy will love. Bizzie Princess sat through the entire movie completely engrossed it is so cute watching her face expressions, I had to duck out early because the fairies weren’t that interesting to a 10 month old walker. He would much rather run up and down, down and up and up and down the hall of the theatre.
After the movie we took a stroll into Pixie Hollow, where all the fairies live. Bizzie Princess, who temporarily turned into a Fairy, no wait a Princess Fairy, got to meet Iridessa, Rosetta and of course Tinker Ball. It is similar to meeting the Princess, they talk to you and you get to take pictures with them. She was thrilled. So then we went to take her to see the Princess. She was able to met Cinderella, Pocahontas, Snow White and Aurora. It amazes me that she knows all their names because she hasn’t seen all of the movies. While she was meeting with one of the Princess I looked back and saw a guy “meeting the Princesses” as well. He looked about seventeen years old, it seemed odd to me. What do you think?
out in la: pumpkin festival

Our kids are finally home from a week with the grandparents and Aunts. Thanks for watching the kids this past week. We decided to take them to the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival on Saturday for some outdoor fun. It you haven’t been, it’s great FREE fun for the entire family. They have a bunch of games and rides for the little ones, some music for the adults and food that everyone can enjoy. I highly recommend the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. It’s delicious!
It wouldn’t be a Pumpkin Festival without pumpkins and there were plenty of them from tiny to gigantic. You can buy a pumpkin or two and even get them carved by an amazing artist, sculpture. (what would you call a pumpkin sculpture?) We didn’t buy any pumpkins but my father took plenty of pictures in front of them.
There is also a great little marketplace with several different vendors. We found some great homemade candles that smelled good enough to eat. Some peanut brittle that was good enough to eat. There were some amazing bibs that every mom must have. Even some ergonomic back supports. I’m still regretting not buying one at the festival because I haven’t found them again since.
a little help from babyfriendlyla

So I originally started my Out in LA section to motivate myself to go out and explore LA with my two kids in tow and sharing the experience here at Bizzie Mommy. Then life happened, work happened, economy happened and well, the bizzieness took over.
I will be planning a couple of adventures this month and through the end of the year. But in the meantime I wanted to introduce you to a great blog that I found through twittermoms.com.
BabyFriendlyLA is a great spot to check out things to do in LA with baby. She has a great list of things to do for some Halloween family fun.
Last year we went to the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival with Bizzie Princess and had a good time. The food was decent and there are plenty of things for the kids to do. Parking is on the street, but there are shuttles that will take you up to the Festival.
This year we are taking Bizzie Princess and Bizzie Boy to Halloween Time at Disneyland, this Saturday actually, so I’ll post a report when we get back. I have to go buy costumes tonight. Anyone want to guess what Bizzie Princess will be, hmm?
Anyway check out BabyFriendlyLA when you’re looking for fun things to do with the kiddos in the busy city of Los Angeles.

Traffic in LA sucks, but this is much worse…

Life in LA isn’t always the easiest. It takes an hour to get to someplace that is 20 miles away and no matter what time of day it is you will always run into traffic somewhere. And the gas prices are… Well I just spent $74.00 filling up my tank this morning. Makes me think a Prius isn’t such a bad idea. Can you fit two car seats in the back? Traffic in LA sucks.
ain’t nothing thrifty about this

out in la: smooch baby boutique

If you are just as addicted to Keeping up with the Khardasians as I am, then you know about their two boutiques in Calabasas. I think I am attracted to the show because it amazes me how free the girls are to express themselves. Even though some of the topics maybe a little hard to take with your parents in the room, they are lucky to have the kind of relationship where they are free to talk, well freely.
So after seeing their baby boutique Smooch on the show, I decided this was something I had to see for myself. On my lunch break I dashed over to Calabasas to check it out. It’s not easiest place to find and the parking isn’t the greatest but none the less I was able to do both.

out in la: baby celebration

With family in tow, we spent a day at Baby Celebration at the Los Angeles Convention Center, this weekend. A mommy or mom-to-be’s paradise, isles of fun and hip products for mom, baby and trendy tots.
The event didn’t stop at hip and trendy there was also plenty of healthy and green products available at the show. My 2 year old daughter had the opportunity to sample Tasty Baby, frozen organic food for babies and toddlers. “Mommy I love it,” she says. With her stamp of approval I will defiantly be buying some at Whole Foods next week.
Hot Mom’s Club was at the event promoting their new website, if you haven’t checked it out. It’s an absolute must! Register and have some fun talking with other Hot Mamas. I walked away with a cute baby tank, “My mom is hotter than your mom!”
I’m crossing my fingers to be the winner of the YogiPoof ultimate Bean Bag!
If you haven’t joined Hot Moms Club, you should check out their site, www.hotmomsclub.com.
