My husband hates that I have to “girlify” everything I own. I have a pink case for my blackberry with a pink earpiece for talking and driving. My laptop is pink Dell and of course I had to by a pink trimmed computer sleeve. My iPod video has a pink case and my iPod Nano is purple only because they discontinued the pink at that time. Damn you Apple I was on a roll!
I bought a brown and pink trimmed Skip Hop diaper bag when Bizzie Princess was born. He still complains about that one. I could have gone all pink!
So when I was pregnant with Bizzie Boy I bought a blue backpack diaper bag, you know since he’s a boy and all. Did that please the Hubs? Of course not! To be fair it has girlie flair – but it’s still BLUE. So I promised to get him a man-friendly diaper bag really soon. If you have any suggestions let me know.
Anyway on to reason why I even started this post…
As you know I just invested in a new camera. The lovely Canon Rebel XS which I absolutely love. So what does that mean? Well I need to shop for a new camera bag. And it can’t be just any plain-old-bulky-boring-stiff-black camera bag. YUCK!
I hate when diaper bags, laptop bags and camera bags SCREAM I’m a camera bag come and steal me! Do you know what I mean?
So I decided to search for a camera bag that completely fits my personality without it being to “girlified”. So I jumped on my pink computer and started to window shop on etsy.com. They have some really cute customized items all I have to do is find something with a little testosterone built in.
So here are the items I found. Let me know what you think?
DYO Custom Small Messenger Diaper Bag by Wicked Stitch Designs
I like the size of the bag, not too bulky and easy to carry. Plus it doesn’t really “look” like a camera bag. I am hoping they have a camo type print that should satisfy the Hubs.
DYO Custom Jayden Messenger Camera Bag also by Wicked Stitch Designs
I also really like this Jayden bag it looks nice and small with just enough room for the camera and a few lenses. Plus she has a wide fabric selection so I’m sure I’ll find something man-friendly.
While bag shopping I stumbled on some really cute accessories. During out trip to Disneyland over the weekend the Hubs was complaining how the camera strap bothered his neck and he wished he had a padded neck strap. Well guess what Etsy sellers Phat Straps and Sugar Plum Baby both have some really cute straps. I like the Quick Release Argyle style straps.
Sugar Plum Baby also sells coordinating lens bags to help protect your camera lenses when not in use. Another good thing to have!
Aren’t these adorable. Plus I can think of a million other uses for these bags.
What is your favorite style? Help me pick a male-friendly style that both the Hubs and I can be happy with.

Those are so pretty. You know I’m the same way, in a sense. You know how cute diaper bags have gotten – to the point where they look like purses? Can’t leave those stylish diaper bags in the car either.

There are many styles of bags and such out there but I suggest making your own. It would take approximately 1/4 yard of fabric for a camera bag and you can make it to fit your needs. http://www.mccallpattern.com/index.htm check out your options…there’s a great pride in making it yourself.

I too just purchased a new SLR camera and the first thing I asked the sales clerk was, “do you carry any CUTE camera bags?!” Of course, you would already know the answer to that one! That is wonderful collection. However you can also choose other colors besides pinks, such as white and black. they are also wonderful colors for good colors varieties. You may take pink bags for small lovely things such as ipod, chel phone, etc. You can get black color for your laptop messenger bag. That is going to be more beautiful collection.
