Okay, we’ve all heard the saying, “jack of all trades and a master of none,” but does it ring true? I mean we see it all the time, an acclaimed actress discovers her music talent and records an album, then turns around and writes the next best-selling novel. If she can do it why can’t I? Is she doing all of it successfully because of her “natural” talent or is it her fame?
I have to admit I am a self-proclaimed jill of all trades and I honestly don’t think it can be any other way. I absolutely love writing, I adore photography, and I love web design and creating websites. Whenever I try to remove one or two out of equation to concentrate on the other, they pester me like a devil sitting on my shoulder. It literally becomes an obsession. For example, I was supposed to take a break from this blog (ha, ha) and concentrate on the store so I can get the hell out of working for the man.

If you need some great baby and maternity gifts stop by LaLa Baby Boutique. Go ahead I’ll wait…
Then I just had to go and introduce photography back into my life. I’ve always loved taking pictures but this is crazy. I think about it all the time, I wake up wondering what and if I’ll have time to take pictures. I drool over the latest lenses and cameras – yes I think I’ve reached the level of obsession/passion, whatever word works for you.
Now I am currently juggling writing, blogging, and store ownership. I won’t even mention the websites that are patiently waiting to be launched. When I’m working on one, the others are knocking at the door. So what’s a girl to do if she’s a natural jill of all trades? Can you be a “master” at more than one thing?
I’m going to say YES!
Because even though I have more than one interest I’m passionate about ALL of them and that’s what it’s all about, doing something you’re passionate about. Life is too short and too long to spend the rest of your days doing something that is just – blah.
Are you living in blah or are you following your passions and dreams. We are nearing the eve of a New Year, what are your plans for making it a SPECTACULAR year?

Your story is like my story, but I’m sure you have a bit more experience than me. I’ll get there one day, I’m actually working on an ecommerce site as well. It’s crazy how similar we are. take care.
Sometimes I feel like it’s a curse because there’s only so much time in the day, how can I do them all?
Here’s what I’m working with:
Personal Parenting Blog Mommy Daddy Blog (loads of things going on here)
Personal Blog Sophistishe (I blog here every blue moon)
Photography Blog (secret in the works)
Food Blog (secret in the process of relaunching)
Web Design Portfolio (some day I’ll put it together)
Ebay store (every blue moon we put up items)
Ecommerce store (tired of paying Ebay fees, may launch)
Then there are blogs that Greg and I dabbled in and dropped.
Help!?
Sheena´s last blog ..There were no pets involved, I swear.
I can totally relate… and despite the fact that sometimes I’m left pulling my hair out and going on temporary strike from EVERYTHING, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m working with my personal blog, my review blog, ColloquyMoms.com which I’m not even sure where I’m going with that but it lets me write things I don’t really care to put on my other blogs, plus I’m working on getting additional contributors, the Interracial Family Organization website and forum that I started up with two friends, my web design which I am always like 2 projects behind in… even though I’m not “in” photography, the obsessive amount of photos I take of my own family is enough to make anyone dizzy LOL, my ministry which is making a comeback Jan 1 and has required a lot of time lately, and of course add to all of that cooking three meals a day (which is a requirement to be married to my husband since I’m a SAHM and he works 2 jobs LMBO), doing oodles of neverending laundry, cleaning, and raising five insane children.
Oh yeah, and I contribute to MomActive as well.
*sigh*
What in the heck are we thinking?? haha I’m with Sheena – there are only so many hours in the day. No wonder I feel like I’m always working and nothing ever gets done LOL!

Thanks for you comments. I don’t think I’ll be able to give up any so I guess I’ll just be going through another year of laundry sitting on the coach (for weeks) and a couple of dishes in the sink, some sleepless nights and some very busy days. I complain about not having time to do it ALL – but I also love doing it ALL.
