There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t complain about the clutter, no, disorganized ciaos that has taken over our home. Parenting two kids, working full-time and trying to run several businesses is hectic. Trying to do this under a 940 square foot roof is INSANE!
So when I received an email stating that I was 1 of 5 California bloggers chosen to receive a design consultation with Lisa LaPorta from HGTV’s “Designed to Sell” and “Bang for your Buck.” I was floored. My second thought was, she will have her work cut out for her. Then I thought, geez I have a lot of cleaning to do before she arrived.
Last Thursday I spent the evening with Lisa. My original plan was to find some creative ways to handle all of the kid’s things, but after talking with Lisa we realized the more pressing problem was in the Family Room/Office/Kitchen area. We don’t have a designated office so most of our business items are scattered throughout the room, in boxes, plastic files, and shelves. She gave me some amazing ideas on how to transform the space and explained how simple changes can make an amazing difference. The magic key for us is STORAGE and we need a lot of it.
Before we headed out the door to do some shopping, Lisa helped me pick out the best KILZ paint to help bring some color into the space.
KILZ casual colors has low odor during and after application, is easy to clean and can be applied with ONE COAT! That is a prefect solution for busy moms like me.
Our Visit to WalMart
The first thing we did was pick up the KILZ casual color, which is available between $21 and $25 per gallon. Then it was off to pick out some furniture for storage.

Since we are planning on moving within the next couple of months I decided to wait on ordering the furniture because I didn’t want it to get ruined in the process of meeting. But it did not seem far to not show you what we have in mind for the family room/kitchen.

I would like to know where I can fine kitchen cabinets to redo my kitchen for under two thousand dollars.
Lisa my son has a single wide trailer in Steamboat Springs Colorado in a mobile home park in town. He is 41 and a single dad (10 year old daughter) that we would like to sell next year and it needs help. I have seen you do many redo’s but never a trailer. Steamboat is a great year round place and Mike (our son) would like to see about buying a home but has to sell the trailer first. Can you help him. Barbara Shannon
