Tell us about Trending Solutions
Trending Solutions is a customer service and order fulfillment company. Our mission is to help woman owned businesses outsource their day-to-day responsibilities, which includes handling customer inquiries and shipping the product for their on-line stores. Woman now have the time to go out and market their business and find a balance between work and family.

What inspired you to start your business?
I have worked in the customer service industry for 23 years, many of those years in Fortune 500 companies directing, developing and opening call centers across the country. They were wonderful positions, however, I never felt truly fulfilled because I wasn’t making a difference in someone else’s life.

I noticed that so many women had a passion to start their business, but were struggling to do all of the tasks that are needed to get their business off the ground and take it to the next level. I felt my experience could assist these multi-tasking women realize their dreams by finding an effective resource to outsource their customer service and fulfillment needs, which is a time consuming endeavor for many business owners.

How long has your business been in business?
1 ½ years

What did you do in your past work life?
The majority of my career, I ran call centers for a major insurance company, medical supplier and home shopping network. I was also a buyer for a major electronics retailer.

What is your ideal workday like?
An ideal day for me would be to end the day by having a positive impact on my customers businesses.
It is always a perfect day when I am able to have a successful workday and still have plenty of time for my family

What have been some of your major successes and challenges?
I love challenges because it is rewarding when you are able to complete something new and learn a new skill. Therefore, I always look for opportunities to bring on new challenges.

I am proud of the day-to-day successes that I am able to achieve, but I am most proud of the events I have hosted to bring women entrepreneurs together to share ideas and help their businesses grow.

The next event I am hosting will be next August at Disney World www.DynamicWomenEntrepreneurs.com. I will be bringing experts together with women entrepreneurs to help address all areas of businesses so the women will leave confident in their abilities to raise the bar for their companies.

On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
Failure is not an option for me. I am determined to make my company successful because I want to be able to work for myself and continue to be home with my son. I worked so many years outside of the home that I want to cherish this time with him.

To help me keep things in perspective, I keep a chart that shows the progression of my business. On days that I think I am not moving forward, I look at the chart that shows the number of calls we have taken, the number of orders we have shipped and the income for the month. I can see that there may be dips in progress here and there, but overall, we are progressing forward.

I am also motivated because of the positive impact I am having on other women’s businesses.

Do you have a motivational quote?
I just heard this quote a couple of days ago.

Sarah Palins father once told her:

“I am not sure what the secret of success is, but the secret to failure is trying to please everyone”.

I know for me, I use to try so hard to make everyone happy and be everything to everyone, when in reality, I knew in the back of my mind, that is never possible. Now my thought process is to do the very best I can, with a high level of ethical standards and if someone doesn’t like it, so be it.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to your children about running a successful business, what would it be?
Be honest in your business dealings and expect to work hard.

What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?
Being organized so I can complete as much work as possible while my son is at school. But I also take time to talk about business ideas with my son so he gets an understanding of what is involved in running a business. It is so neat when we are driving somewhere and my son will see a business and make a comment such as “that decision didn’t make economic sense”.

What advice would you offer to aspiring women entrepreneurs?
Before starting a business, make sure that it is truly something that you are passionate about because you will live and breathe it every day. If it isn’t something you love doing, it will be evident to your customers and become a burden rather than something you enjoy going to work and doing.

What is next for your business?
Now that my business is established, I will spend the next year working on making the Dynamic Women Entrepreneur event a huge success.
