MY CAMERA
Thank you to everyone who has commented on my photos, much appreciated. Since some people have asked I thought I would let everyone know what equipment I use.
I shoot with a Canon Rebel XS.

I’m not the most experienced photographer but I LOVE taking pictures and developing my craft. I love candid shots and macro photography.

I purchased my Canon Rebel XS as a package deal on adorama.com last January. It came with the standard 18-55mm lens and a zoom lens 70-300mm. I also have the Tamron 18-200mm lens and a macro extension tube by Canon.

WHAT I LOVE
I love the clarity of the pictures and how easy the camera is to use. They is a fully automatic function on the camera, however you can easily learn how to shoot in manual. I love that I can capture all of the action shots of my kids, now with its burst function. My Rebel is a basic model however you can easily upgrade by just changing out the lenses with the higher end models. My father is a photographer and I’ve used his higher end lenses on my camera and the pictures come out even better!

WHAT I DON’T
I love my Canon Rebel; however there are a few things I don’t like. I wish the straps were designed so the camera would face down instead of having the lens stick straight out. I’m always worried I’m going to hit something. The Tamron 18-200mm lens I purchased is really slow in low light so I often have to switch to manual mode.

Overall I think the Canon Rebel XS is a great camera. I’ll probably upgrade in a few years, but I’m happy with what I have now. It’s a great “starter” DSLR.
