Today was a sad day for the world – a legend is gone and will definitely be missed. An amazing artist – the best, the most unique artist this world has ever seen and nobody will ever come close to his talent and popularity.
This morning I woke up to watch the memorial service as I got ready for work. Traffic was stopped on the 101 Freeway for the Jackson family motorcade; I think it was about 24 cars. Since this was my typical route to work, I was able to take my time getting ready.
At this time, I don’t think it really hit me. It was a weird feeling. We visited the memorial in front of the Jackson home a couple of days earlier. Check out the whrrl story.
I listened to the great music; Jennifer Hudson looked beautiful and pregnant. Mariah was touching and so were Usher and Stevie Wonder. I missed Jermaine Jackson’s performance because I had to go into a meeting.
My favorite line at the memorial was by Al Sharpton, I know what you are thinking, really?
There is nothing strange about your daddy it was strange what your daddy had to deal with.
That sentence is so TRUE. People were so judgmental and quick to criticize.
The moment that finally made it sink in to me was when Paris spoke about here father and how much she loved him. Michael Jackson was truly gone. My heart goes out to Paris and the rest of the Jackson family.
We came home and played the Michael Jackson videos for the kids, Billy Jean, Bad, Billy Jean, Rock with You and a few others. BP tried to follow along with his dance moves and Bizzie Boy was grooving while in my lap. I spent the rest of the evening watching videos and playing MJ music and you know I couldn’t narrow down one favorite song. I enjoy so many of them. What is your favorite Michael Jackson song?
Good-bye Michael and rest in peace knowing that you did change the world and touched billions of hearts in the process. I am honored to share my birthday with you or I should say thank you for sharing your birthday with me.
