the lightscoop – my new favorite photography accessory

by Stephanie Elie on October 29, 2009

I first talked about the Lightscoop on Lifetime Moms and fell in love with the product immediately. I was actually on the verge of buying an external flash before I discovered the Lightscoop while flipping through a photography magazine.

If you have DSLR and hate those hideous pop up flash pictures than consider buying a LightScoop. It has made world of difference in my shots, especially those indoor low-light photos.

What is a Lightscoop?
Lightscoop® is a smart low-tech device that creates soft, flattering light by redirecting your camera’s pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.

How does it work?
Simply slip the Lightscoop® over your camera’s pop-up flash, follow the easy camera set-up steps, and immediately transform your tiny pop-up flash into pro-quality light. Professor Kobré’s Lightscoop® lets you use professional photography tricks without having to buy or learn to use expensive extra lighting equipment.

I am almost in tears reading this because I have such a hard time taking photos indoors. I hike up my ISO so high and deal with noise and blur. I really wanted an external flash, the one I wanted was about $300. I stalk the sun so that I can take pictures in natural sunlight. Oh I am winning, buying, whatevering one of these bad boys!!! I am the same way – I hated to take pictures in doors. It helped a little bit more with the 50mm because its a faster lens but the LightScoop has helped the best. I’m sure you’ll love it.

I need a Lightscoop because my DH takes fantastic pictures that could be made better by not having that glaring light reflection. Thanks for the contest!

This would really come in handy to make our annual family Christmas card photo look alot nicer without the harsh lighting from the pop-up flash on my camera. Thanks for offering this prize.

Oh I so need one of these genius little thangs! Why? Because I usually am very close to my subjects face and you can definitely tell that pop up flash has been sticking it’s nose in where it don’t belong!!!

It would be very useful in my house to take pics of our little one to be…the back 1/2 of our house doesn’t get very much natural light at all and I always have to use the flash if I don’t want the pics to be grainy or blurry.

OHhhh I SO need one of these! Winter is coming and this far north (Canada) that means VERY little time during the day when the lighting is good. I’ll be using my flash a LOT, including at my daughter’s first birthday party.

Would LOVE to have a lightscoop as an inexpensive way to get some more awesome, natural looking photos of my kids. With winter creeping up on us it’ll be hard to get them outside much longer! AND when hubby takes over my beloved Nikon, he doesn’t mess with settings so even HE can get awesome pictures with this little baby!!!

I would love to have a lightscoop because the flash is very harsh both for the resulting picture and potentially for the eyes of the photo ‘victim.’ I’m going to have a baby in 2 weeks and I plan on taking hundreds of thousands of photos of him and this will make it easier on both of us :) Thanks for the giveaway!

I’d love to have the lightscoop because being fairly new to photography, I have a lot of lighting issues and this would help. I hate using flash, it distort the image quality and color so much.

I love taking photos of my daughter playing outside and I can’t tell you how many of the pictures are just (I feel) ruined because the sun is just too much. When taking staged photos it is easy enough to move to another location but catching my daughter in the act of playing or experiencing something new I just don’t have that option. The lightscoop would be such a great help.

There are a couple of novice photogs in the house, and before they get too into their hobby (i.e. before they spend my retirement), I’d love for them to be able to use this lightscoop and get used to it. It might save ‘em some money down the road.
