Twitter, I think I love ya!
I have only been using Twitter for a few months now, not expecting much, just another social networking tool, right? At first I didn’t really get it. Micro Blogging what’s the big deal.
What is micro blogging, you ask?
A form of blogging that allows users to send brief text updates, you know what you see those teenagers doing on the phones all the time. I’m a teenager in a 30+ year old, 20+ year old body. You can micro blog on facebook, instant message would be a form of micro blogging. You get the idea.
What is vlogging you ask? You probably didn’t but I mentioned earlier, so just in case.
Vlogging aka Video Blogging is just like it sounds. It’s blogging on video.
Tweeting is very addicting, I’m on all the time whether its on my blackberry or my laptop. I have spent hours; none of them wasted. I’ve learned a lot from Twitter and my twitter friends. So I thought it would be a neat idea to share the tools I use or heard of for twitter and maybe you can comment on some that you use as well.
Twitter Grader - @grader
if you want to feel like you in school again and grade yourself on a point system then check them out and tweet your results.
Twitter Search -
Twitter search is great when you looking for a group topic that is going on. People will put a “#name” when they are talking to a group on a particular subject. Like #15days, or #GNO
TwitterFeed –
This is a tool you can use if you want to tweet your blog posts, you can schedule when you want them to go out.
Twitterberry –
Is a black berry application. It’s a mobile version of twitter. It’s great. Not sure what a good app is for the Iphone, anybody want to chime in?
TweetDeck –
Many people use this app to organize their twitter. I haven’t used it yet, but it is on my to-do-list to check out.
Twinfluence
Measures your twitter influence. A great tool especially if you are trying to promote you opinion. Just learned about this one while working on my 15 days homework.
Qwitter –
This tool will notify you when someone decided to unfollow you, a silent way of saying “You’re not my friend!” It might be kind of fun calling people out when they unfollow you. I set this one up because it is supposed to track the post that drew them to de-friend you. So far the followers that unfollowed left off for little post, I said good morning and they unfollowed me.
If you need some help with some Twitter Lingo check out Twitterisms.
Don’t underestimate Twitter I found one of my co workers on the site! Check it out if you haven’t already signed up. If you are a mom, you should also check out Twitter Moms.

I’ve become a bit of a Twitter addict myself. I recall, as an novice Twitterer, not fully understanding the power behind micro-blogging, but now…I get it! It’s how I “met” you!
